Skye Kin

Like Skye Roots, Marjorie MacInnes of Skye Kin researched the families of north and west Skye. Having gathered information from a wide variety of sources for over 40 years and with a wealth of local knowledge, the Skye Kin archive is substantial. Marjorie has now passed this large archive, including her extensive database of family charts, to Skye Roots to allow her more time to pursue her own interests. The Skye Kin research concentrated mainly on the parishes of Duirinish and Bracadale.

Parish of Duirinish:

Dunvegan: seat of the Clan MacLeod since 1200, with the townships of Kilmuir and Roskhill, Orbost and Roag, Harlosh and Vatten to the south and Claigan to the north.

Waternish: from Fairy Bridge through Bay, Lusta, Stein, Dunhallin, to Trumpan and Ardmore, Geary and Gillen.
